How it all Began
Jasmine’s Perspective
I sawJoël for the first time in the Summer of 2017 while we were both taking a summer studio at the University of Oregon. I knew right away there was chemistry between us. At the time, I was working the Technology Desk in Lawrence Hall, which was the Architecture building where we both spent the majority of our time. After he approached me for some help on his laptop, he would go on to be my one and only returning customer.
J’ai vu Joël pour la première fois à l’été 2017, alors que nous participions tous les deux à un atelier d’été à l’Université de l’Oregon. J’ai tout de suite su qu’il y avait une alchimie entre nous. À cette époque, je travaillais au comptoir technologique dans le bâtiment Lawrence Hall, qui était le bâtiment d’architecture où nous passions la majorité de notre temps. Après qu’il m’a demandé de l’aide pour son ordinateur portable, il est rapidement devenu mon seul et unique client régulier.
Vi a Joël por primera vez en el Verano de 2017, mientras estábamos tomando un estudio en la Universidad de Oregon. Inmediatamente senti atracción entre nosotros. I met Jasmine back in school when I needed help with my laptop - little did I know that a little tech issue would lead me to the love of my life. She worked at the Tech Desk, and from the moment we spoke, I was captivated by her energy, and that sharp, witty sarcasm that never failed to make me laugh. What started as a friendship through school grew into something much deeper even after graduating, a bond that withstood the test of time. Though we lived in different cities, our connection only grew stronger, and for six years, we nurtured a long-distance relationship that proved no distance could keep us apart. We’re finally building our life together in Portland, and I’m looking forward to the memories we’ll create for years to come together.
Conocí a Jasmine en la escuela cuando necesitaba ayuda con mi computadora; no sabía que un pequeño problema tecnológico me llevaría al amor de mi vida. Ella trabajaba en Ayuda de Tech, desde el momento en que hablamos, quedé cautivado por su energía y ese sarcasmo astuto e ingenioso que nunca dejaba de hacerme reír. Lo que comenzó como una amistad en la escuela se convirtió en algo mucho más profundo incluso después de graduarse, un vínculo que resistió la prueba del tiempo. Elle travaillait au comptoir technologique, et dès notre première conversation, j’ai été captivé par son énergie et son sarcasme aiguisé et plein d’esprit, qui me faisait toujours rire. Ce qui a commencé comme une amitié à l’université s’est transformé en quelque chose de bien plus profond, même après notre diplôme, un lien qui a résisté à l’épreuve du temps. Bien que nous vivions dans des villes différentes, notre connexion n’a fait que se renforcer, et pendant six ans, nous avons entretenu une relation à distance qui a prouvé qu’aucune distance ne pouvait nous séparer. Aujourd’hui, nous construisons enfin notre vie ensemble à Portland, et j’ai hâte de créer de nouveaux souvenirs à ses côtés pour les années à venir.

Upon flying the duck nest at the University of Oregon, Jasmine and Joël has attended events as a couple illuminating the room with laughter, dancing, and good memories. Their wedding is sure to be one for the books!
